My husband Todd and I have been together 11 years and married for 6. My father, a retired Army Colonel inspired me to enlist in the military at 19 and I am a proud Gulf War veteran having served 9 years in the Air Force. In 2002 I left the military life and we planted our roots in Hanover, Pennsylvania. These days I'm still working for the Department of Defense as a civilian and spent 6 months of 2010 deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. As someone who grew up in a military family, served in the military, and continues to work closely with the military, I understand how critical a strong support system can be. That is why we as a family put our full support behind the Armed Forces Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides comfort and support to our military community when they need it most. www.armedforcesfoundation.org.

Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling & Armed Forces Foundation Children's Holiday Party

This holiday season thousands of children of will be wishing for something bigger than a Xbox 360 or a new doll. They will be wishing their deployed parent could be home for the holidays. Deployments are especially hard on families during the holidays and that is why the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF), in partnership with the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) Youth Center is sponsoring a Holiday party for dependent children (military and DoD civilan) in the National Capitol Region, ages 5-12 who have at least one family member deployed overseas during the holidays. We want to say thank you to the brave spouses and children, whose love and support keeps our military members going strong!

SPECIAL GUESTS INCLUDE: Santa & Mrs. Claus, Washington Redskins Cheerleaders, USAF Presidential Honor Guard Drill Team, Local Pageant Queens, Super Magic Man, and more!!
